One of the most rewarding parts of releasing HBCU Greatness: The Journey Continues has been hearing directly from readers. Many of you have reached out to share your thoughts, reflections, and personal connections to HBCUs. I want to take a moment to share what you’ve told me—because your feedback fuels this mission.

Across all the conversations I’ve had, four themes keep coming up:

1. The research stands out.

Readers have told me the book’s factual presentation and historical context helped them understand the impact of HBCUs in a new light. That means a lot, because accuracy and clarity were priorities from the start.

2. The book guides the next generation.

Many have shared that they plan to pass the book along to their children, grandchildren, or students. Hearing that it’s being used to guide future generations is one of the greatest compliments I could receive.

3. It encourages active support for HBCUs.

Readers have expressed that the book has inspired them to revisit their alma mater, donate, attend events, or encourage young people to explore HBCUs. That kind of engagement is exactly what keeps these institutions thriving.

4. It honors the legacy of HBCU graduates.

People have called the book “a salute” to past generations who paved the way—those who transformed not only HBCUs but the nation as a whole. I wrote this book to honor them, and I’m grateful that readers feel that dedication.

Every message I receive reminds me why I wrote HBCU Greatness: The Journey Continues. It was never meant to be just a book—it was meant to be a bridge: connecting history to the present, and the present to our future leaders.

To everyone who has read it, shared it, or passed it forward—thank you. Your support helps amplify the story of HBCUs, and together we can continue to preserve and promote a legacy that has shaped generations.
